The impacts of human induced climate change will act on the marine system at all scales from local to global. Changes in meteorological patterns may result in changes in temperature along with changes in stratification and ocean circulation. This will lead to changes in habitats and may result in changes in biological communities and hence the goods and services they provide.
In the context of the marine system such changes are currently unmanageable and rather represent a factor that management strategies being formulated for other drivers may need to take account and adjust to.
